What is a fad? According to the dictionary, a fad is an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something—especially one that is short-lived and without basis in the object's true qualities. In other words, a craze.
Think back to when you first gave your life to Christ. How passionate were you?How willing were you to do anything to please Him, follow Him, and be set apart?
Many believers started their walk with fire in their hearts, deeply moved by God’s presence and eager to live righteously. But somewhere along the way, that fire grew dim. What once was a genuine, life-transforming relationship with the Lord has, for some, become a cultural identity or a trend—just another checkbox, another Sunday ritual.
Today, we’re seeing a dangerous shift. Christianity, for some, has become a fad.
Where there was once deep reverence, there’s now shallow excitement.Where there was once conviction, there’s now convenience.Where there was once transformation, there’s now conformity to culture.
The Mixture Problem
We now see Christianity mixed with secular values.Drinking on Saturday. Worshiping on Sunday.Posting about God while promoting ungodly content.Being a "Christian influencer" with little fruit or holiness in sight.
Leaders—those who are called to be examples—have become stumbling blocks. And unbelievers are left confused, wondering: Where is the evidence of God in your life?
To make matters worse, those who do pursue holiness are mocked.Labeled "legalistic." Called "too extreme."But Scripture tells us that without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).
Culture has flipped the script—calling what is evil good, and what is good evil (Isaiah 5:20).But the call of God has never changed: "Be holy, for I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16).
So What Do We Do?
We must go back to holy thinking, to sacred living, and to unshakable faith.
This world doesn’t need another trendy Christian. It needs true followers of Jesus who live set apart.People who will stand firm in truth, not blend in for relevance.
We can’t lead others to Christ if we look just like the world. We must ditch culture, ditch compromise, and step up in our faith.
How?
1. Examine Your Life Honestly
Take time to reflect: What am I mixing into my faith that doesn’t align with God's Word?
Pray Psalm 139:23–24 – “Search me, O God…”
2. Stop Justifying Compromise
Don’t excuse behavior just because culture normalizes it.
Ask yourself: Would Jesus be glorified in what I post, watch, say, or do?
3. Cleanse the Mixture
Remove New Age practices, secular influences, and double-minded living.
Delete, unfollow, or stop supporting what conflicts with biblical truth.
4. Commit to Living Set Apart
Consecrate yourself daily. Holiness isn’t legalism—it’s love in action.
Romans 12:2 – Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
5. Grow Up in the Lord
Move from spiritual milk to solid food (Hebrews 5:13–14).
Don’t stay stuck at “Free Membership” Christianity—go deeper.
6. Lead by Example
Your walk preaches louder than your words.
Ask: If a non-believer looked at my life, would they see the evidence of Christ?
7. Stop Living a Convenient Christianity
Jesus didn’t die for us to follow Him only when it’s easy.
Faith is not seasonal—it’s sacrificial.
8. Be Accountable
Find believers who will challenge you in truth and love.
Don’t walk this out alone.
9. Challenge the Church, Not the World First
Revival begins in the house of God.
Before calling out non-believers, ask: Is my life a true reflection of Jesus?
10. Check Your Heart Posture
Ask the Holy Spirit: Am I really surrendered?
Let conviction lead you, not condemnation.
11. Pursue the Premium Version of Your Faith
Choose to go beyond forgiveness—walk in transformation.
Pay the cost: daily surrender, obedience, and a life holy unto the Lord.
📖 Scripture to Meditate On:
Hebrews 5:13–14 – “Solid food is for the mature…”
Galatians 3:6 – Faith that mirrors Abraham’s obedience.
Revelation 3:16 – “Because you are lukewarm… I will spit you out…”
